but the walking of which I speak has nothing in it akin to taking exercise, but is itself the enterprise and adventure of the day“.  –Henry David Thoreau-

My name is Juan Jose Reyes. I write this blog as a way to promote the art of Street Photography and to share with the community of photographers that love this genre. I use a Fuji X-100 for all my street photography and, as you will see on my blog, I shoot only in color.

I run the Miami Street Photography Club and I am the founder of the Miami Street Photography Festival. My goal is to promote and practice the art of street photography and help develop a community of people interested in this genre.

  1. Juan very nice blog and I had no idea there was a Miami Street Photography Festival. I’ve been doing street photography in Miami for a few years already and I’m glad to know that there are others out there like yourself. You can peruse a Little Havana photoessay right where you guys are doing the photowalk for the festival right here http://www.ledesmaportfolio.net/browse/category/15/ and some Ricoh GRD3 stuff here as well http://www.ledesmaportfolio.net/browse/tag/Ricoh_GRD3/ but I’m in the process of moving my entire web presence to ledesmaphotography.wordpress.com. Following your blog now. Saludos.

  2. Funnily enough, I am both averted and addicted to routine! I find myself coming to your site a bit too frequently though:) I read your blog entry ‘The Five Levels Of Street Photography’ and remembered the term ‘Cognitive friction’ I seem to read this weekly now, so I guess I should start to read your other blog entries, as that one is exceptional. I came upon some of your colour photos today, and LOVED them. I really want to work in colour, and will start to do so, but my heart is in black and white. I have never felt capable of colour I find mood easier. Anyway, your blog has been very useful to me and others. Thank you for sharing!

    • Thank you very much Darran, I’m glad you find it useful. Color is definitely harder than BW because it brings another element to consider. Life is in color so to me shooting street photography feels better in color. Thanks again for the comments and support.

  3. Really impressed by the quality of your posts, fond of the photo with the guy stretching is arm, with a repetition of the curve mad with his arm.
Here my photo blog (not only street, but you can see only this kind of photos through the tag), just in case you have a comment or advice to give me 🙂

  4. Enjoy your work, your thoughts and style…I just came across your Blog today after farming for inspiration from Jay Maisel.
Will we see more from you in 2015?
